How do I register my campaign for the donations feature?

Connect a Stripe account on the Payments page, choose Radar Lite during Stripe onboarding, and create your donation page.

You register your campaign for donations by connecting a Stripe account on the Payments page. Stripe verifies your organization and handles the money movement, so contributions go to your own bank account. This article covers the setup, from connecting Stripe to creating your first donation page.

Before you start

Stripe will ask for details about the campaign or committee, the person responsible for the account, and the bank account that will receive payouts. There is no rush. You can leave the setup and come back to the page to continue where you left off.

While you are still setting up, the Payments page shows only the setup card. The Overview, Transactions, Disputes, Documents, and Account tabs appear once you have submitted your details to Stripe.

Connect your Stripe account

  • On the Payments card, click Set up payments.

  • Work through every step of Stripe's onboarding. Stripe asks for your business or committee details, a responsible person, and your bank account for payouts.

  • Submit at the end. Raise More refreshes your status straight away.

If you close the flow partway through, the setup card reads Setup in progress with the line "Continue your payment setup to start accepting donations" and a Continue setup button. Your progress is saved, so you can pick up where you left off. The tabs stay hidden until you submit.

Choose Radar Lite when Stripe asks

Near the end of Stripe’s onboarding, Stripe offers you a fraud protection plan. The prominent button says Continue with Pro. The free option is the quieter link beside it.

Click Use baseline protection with Lite (included). Lite costs nothing and covers what a campaign donation page needs. It blocks high-risk card payments, prevents card testing, and sends fraud alerts. Radar Standard, Plus, and Pro each add a charge to every payment attempt, which Stripe bills to your connected account.

If you already continued with Pro, you can change it later. See How do I change my Stripe Radar plan? for the steps and How much does each transaction cost? for what each plan costs.

Wait for Stripe to approve the account

After you submit, Stripe reviews the account. A status card sits above the tabs and tells you where you stand:

  • Setup in review means Stripe is checking the details you submitted. Payments and payouts turn on once that finishes.

  • In review means Stripe is still turning on part of your account, such as payouts. The card links you to the Account tab, which may show more, such as an identity check still verifying.

  • Connected with a warning means something is still wrong with accepting payments or with payouts, and the card names which.

  • Active means your organization can accept donations.

Review usually finishes quickly, but Stripe sometimes asks for more documents. When it does, a notification banner appears at the top of the Overview tab with what is still needed. Everything on that tab comes directly from Stripe, so it is always the current state of your account.

Create your donation page

The Donation Pages table appears on the Overview tab once Stripe enables charges on your account. Click Create Donation Page, fill in your title, narrative, suggested amounts, and disclaimer, then click Create Page. The page is live as soon as you save it, and the table shows its public link with a copy button.

You can create as many pages as you need, each with its own link and look. For the full field list, how to share a link with a donation tag and a prefilled amount, and how to disable a page, see How do I manage my donation pages?.

FAQ

I do not see the Set up payments button. What is wrong?

Reload www.raisemore.app/payments. If the card shows a different state, such as Setup in progress, you have already started: click Continue setup instead. If the page fails to load your status, contact support.

Why can I not create a donation page yet?

The Donation Pages table only appears once Stripe has enabled charges on your account. If charges still show as pending, finish any outstanding Stripe requirements first.

Can I have more than one donation page?

Yes. Create as many as you want, each with its own link, suggested amounts, and appearance. See How do I manage my donation pages?.

Where does the money go?

Contributions are processed into your own connected Stripe account and paid out to the bank account or debit card you gave Stripe. Payouts currently run daily. Raise More never holds your funds.

Do I still need ActBlue?

No, but you can use both. Donation pages are independent of your ActBlue sync, and each keeps recording donations to contact profiles.
