How do I bulk-delete contacts?

Select contacts, review the permanent deletion warning, confirm the count, and verify the records were removed.

You can delete several contacts together from the Contacts page.

Before you delete

Deletion is permanent. It removes the selected contacts and their associated phone numbers, emails, donations, pledges, interactions, notes, list memberships, custom fields, and tags.

Check the selected contacts and organization carefully. If you only want to stop outreach, mark the contacts as Do Not Contact instead.

Delete selected contacts

  1. Open Contacts and filter the table to the contacts you want to remove.

  2. Click Edit Multiple, then select the individual contact rows. Check the selection count.

  3. Click the Edit button showing your selected count.

  4. Expand Management and select Delete all selected contacts.

  5. Click Review changes.

  6. Read the deletion warning. Confirm both acknowledgments about permanent deletion and the organization.

  7. Type the exact phrase shown in the dialog, such as Delete 2 contacts.

  8. Click Delete. The deletion runs in the background. Wait for the table to update, then confirm the selected contacts are gone.

Keep the record and stop contact instead

Do Not Contact keeps a person's record and history while blocking outreach. See How do I import a do-not-contact list? for the import workflow.
